Crested Butte Academy

Crested Butte Academy is a private, college-prep boarding and day school centrally located in the town of Crested Butte. The Academy boasts a strong academic education while providing world-class ski and snowboard programs. The school is small, providing a high teacher to student ratio and allowing students to receive highly personalized attention. The faculty at the Academy are also Dorm Parents who supervise the students, allowing the students to benefit from close mentoring with excellent role models.

During the winter season, Academy students train on the mountain in the mornings and attend classes in the afternoons. Snowboarders and skiers at the Academy spend an average 6 days a week on the mountain or at competitions. Athletes from CBA have competed at local, national, and international venues. Each season the academy sends athletes to participate in the highest levels of amateur competition. In 2003 CBA post-grad skier Ben Babbit ('03) fore ran the World Cup downhill in Beaver Creek, CO and senior ('04) Brandon Reid brought home the USASA national boardercross title.
